From Windows Clients to an NT Print Server
Windows clients printing to an NT-based print server have two
options. They may:

Execute the driver locally and render the GDI output
(EMF) into the printer-specific format on their own.

Send the GDI output (EMF) to the server, where the
driver is executed to render the printer-specific output.

Print Driver Execution on the Server.
