There is an enormous variety of window managers for the X Window
System. A good index of window managers and desktop enviroments under
the X Window System can be found at
https://www.plig.org/xwinman/. We have talked already about
Gnome in Chapter 39 which is a session
manager but uses metacity as its default window manager.
