Troubleshooting

If one of your mailbox folders leads SquirrelMail to report out of memory, then edit /etc/php4/apache/php.ini to increase the default memory allowed, which is initially set to 8MB:

  memory_limit = 24M

If your browser tries to download application/x-httpd-php instead of starting up squirrelmail, then it may be a newer version of php and apache not configured correctly. Simply enable mod_actions (through wajig reconfigure apache) and be sure the following line is included in /etc/apache/httpd.conf:

  Action application/x-httpd-php /cgi-bin/php4
