2.12.3.2. Solaris x86 Notes
On Solaris 8 on x86, mysqld dumps core if
you remove the debug symbols using strip
.
If you are using gcc or
egcs on Solaris x86 and you experience
problems with core dumps under load, you should use the
following configure command:
CC=gcc CFLAGS="-O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -DHAVE_CURSES_H" \
CXX=gcc \
CXXFLAGS="-O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -felide-constructors \
-fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -DHAVE_CURSES_H" \
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql
This avoids problems with the libstdc++
library and with C++ exceptions.
If this doesn't help, you should compile a debug version and
run it with a trace file or under gdb. See
Section E.1.3, “Debugging mysqld under gdb”.
