Editing XML processing instructions

If you have instructions you want to send to an application using an XML document, you can use a processing instruction.

To create a new processing instruction, right-click in the Design view, and click Add Child, Add Before or Add After, then click Add Processing Instruction.

To edit a processing instruction in the XML editor Design view, right-click your processing instruction, and click Edit Processing Instruction. You can change the values in the following fields:

  • The Target field is used to identify the application the instructions belongs to.
  • The Data field contains the instructions.
Click OK to save your settings.
Note: These instructions were written for the Resource perspective, but they will also work in many other perspectives.
